Maxprop Westville CAREs for its community

The MaxProp Westville office, headed by Lindi Honey, puts in a concerted and committed effort to care for the community in which it operates. Lindi explains …

“Three or four times a year we promote a blood donor clinic either with the Blood Buggy coming to our office or rearranging one of the offices as a blood donor clinic. A week before the due date we stand at central traffic lights and hand out promotional flyers. The flyers are also handed out at our show houses in the weeks preceding the event. To create more awareness, all our clients are notified of our efforts to increase the supply of blood, which is so desperately needed.

“At the end of each year we supply gifts to the Robin Hood Foundation, which are given out to grannies and grandpas at various old age homes around Durban. It is a humbling experience when one looks at their needs – “gifts” are as basic as face cloths and toothpaste.

“Every September we assist Rotary Club Westville in cleaning up in the suburb, either along the Palmiet River, at the parks, or at the municipal property that is overgrown, full of rubbish and neglected. We spend the day either doing garden work or removing litter to improve the aesthetics of the area.

“Also for Rotary, we assist at the Comrades Marathon by handing out refreshments, giving runners encouragement and cleaning up afterwards.”
