Home to well-known celebrities, artists, entrepreneurs, business owners, wealthy individuals and expatriates, Dainfern is a residential suburb and golf estate north of Johannesburg.

About the area

Established in 1992, the upmarket suburb offers a range of luxury bespoke freehold homes as well as apartments and clusters. Smaller areas near the exclusive Dainfern Lifestyle and Golf Estate are Dainfern Valley and Dainfern Ridge.

Dainfern Lifestyle and Golf Estate is an 18-hole golf estate that is divided into several villages offering a secure and convenient lifestyle to its residents and a number of activities including golf, swimming, tennis, volleyball and squash, among others.

Families are truly at home here as can be seen from the kids riding around carefree on their bikes and thus benefiting from a number of activities without leaving the safety of the estate.

In October this year, the Dainfern Country Club will celebrate 25 years of existence. The 25th year will be celebrated with an Oktoberfest theme and combined with the Golf Club Championships, a sought-after event in the estate, along with many lifestyle and fun events for the non-golfers.

The congestion of the past has been alleviated with the upgrades of William Nicol Drive, Witkoppen Road and Cedar Road. In addition, Fourways along with its many offices and shopping centres is being upgraded to create a wonderful live, work and leisure node.

There are more reasons to love Dainfern. Dainfern College which caters for Grade 0-12 pupils is within the Dainfern precinct. There are other schools nearby such as the Unity College for children with special needs.

Gardeners can stock up at the Old Farm Garden Centre, additionally, there is the GardenShop at Broadacres Lifestyle Centre and a number of nurseries in the area.

There are also a number of hospitals close by as well as veterinary clinics to ensure pets are well looked after in nearby Chartwell and Pineslopes suburbs.

For shopping, there is The Valley Shopping Centre and the newly opened Dainfern Square, which complements the look and feel of this upmarket suburb. Residents can choose from grocery shopping at Woolworths and Pick n Pay to health and beauty, books and stationery as well as a number of restaurants and other speciality stores.

I love the convenience and safety of living in Dainfern. I can walk to both malls and I absolutely love the Virgin Active gym at Dainfern Square
