-During the past 12 years various consultants were employed to assist in the rehabilitation and protection of the unique vegetation and plant species that occur on the reserve. Hundreds of species varying from typical Gannaveld, Fynbos and Renosterveld with its 1,700 unique species, Karoo succulents, protected Gwarrie trees and Botterboom. Renosterveld is one of the most threatened vegetation types in the world with only 4% still left. Kamisoa also boast a unique type of Renosterveld (Rheboksfontein Renosterveld, Kalkoenshoek Renosterveld, Rheboksfontein Gannaveld and Soutkloof Gwarrieveld) which are all highly threatened and not protected in any Provincial Nature Reserves. The reserve is also home to the very rare Diosma Sabulosa and the highly threatened Ixia Leipoldtii.

-The mammal list includes Aardwolf, Bat-Eared fox, Cape Fox, Duiker, Grey Rhebok, Klipspringer, Blackback Jackal, Caracal, African Wildcat, Otter, Leopard and most importantly the critically endangered Riverine Rabbit. The reserve is now ready to reintroduce larger mammals like Gemsbok, Cape Mountain Zebra, Hartebeest and Bontebok.

-There are 5 dams on the reserve, 3 large and two stocked with tilapia fish. The fish attracts fish eagles who visit regularly.

The only structure on the property is a beautifully renovated stone cottage, all other structures, fences etc. have been removed to create this special nature reserve.

The Wildlife Sanctuary is approximately 1,500 hectares in size and situated 800 meters above sea level between Montagu and Barrydale in the malaria free Little Karoo of the Western Cape in South Africa. It is surrounded by the Langeberg, Anysberg, and Warmwaterberg mountains and is a mere two and a half hours drive from Cape Town or the Garden Route and only e few kilometers from the popular tourist Route 62 which is also the longest wine route in the world. Despite this great location and accessibility, the farm is secluded and remote and gives a feeling of complete desolation. Magnificent rock formations reveal the geological history of the region and include marine fossils that date back to about 400 million years ago when the entire area was covered by the ocean. The neighbors is the internationally acclaimed and popular Big 5 Sanbona Wildlife Reserve which is owned by Dubai World.
