Property Description
If you are after tranquility and country living, then this property is for you. This is a superbly well managed and maintained farm set on the banks of the Bitou River, just outside of Plettenberg Bay. Loads and loads of tender loving care has been put into this property over the years which shows in every detail on the farm.
The building consist mainly out of two parts: the main house and the guest house.
THE MAIN HOUSE:
It is a four bedroom house with two full bathrooms. Just off the entrance hall is the study which leads onto a large stoep with built in braai. The stoep has the most wonderful scenic view over the river and an array of bird life.
The house has a good lounge and dining room, which can also open up onto the stoep and/or lawn with a inter leading door to the guest house. A loft area is accessible from the dining room, which can be used as a children’s play room or as a lounge for teenagers. The main house has a private kitchen and family room. From this kitchen, one can access the guest house kitchen that is available to the perusal of guests. The study and family room is fitted with underfloor heating. Two fireplaces in the house ensure warmth and a cozy atmosphere during cold winter nights.
Towards the back of the yard, is a cottage which is currently used as a bunkroom for student groups, but which can also be used as staff quarters. There is also a barn with lots of storage and a workshop. The whole property is protected by an alarm system and security lights. The yard is equipped with two stables.
On the property one will find 5 water tanks that hold 24 000l water in total. A lemon orchard provides additional income during low season.
THE GUEST HOUSE:
The farmhouse-style guest house is located on the banks of the Bitou River. All the rooms lead into the garden and down to the river, with its water lilies and birds.
Each spacious, tranquil bedroom has its own private entrance and its own patio for enjoying sunsets. The rooms are all en-suite, with a bath and shower. Two rooms have twin beds and three have king-sized beds; there is also a sleeper couch in each room for an extra guest if necessary.
Each room has an overhead fan and underfloor heating as well as a TV with M-Net.
The guest lounge has comfy sofas and lots of books and magazines, as well as chess and solitaire. In winter, underfloor heating and a log fire make it a cosy place to sit and read.
The breakfast room opens out onto the garden & river. During summer the scent of honeysuckle drifts in to mingle with the smell of fresh coffee, while in winter the underfloor heating & the log fire keep guests warm & cosy.
