Iain Arthur Grieve
Joined the firm in 1982 as a candidate attorney and attended the University of Natal where he read for and obtained a Bachelor of Arts and LL.B. He is also a Conveyancer and has right of appearance in the High Court.
Iain has been a partner of Goodrickes for over 30 years. He specializes in commercial, civil and labour law. He has an interest in Education Law, having chaired both a Governing Body in a public school and a Board of Governors in an independent school. He has also chaired and offered advice on numerous disciplinary and other matters for various schools in South Africa, and he is currently a member of the Marist Schools’ Council, a body that oversees the schools of the Marist Brothers in South Africa. In 2009, he was awarded the honour of affiliate membership of the Marist Brothers by their General Council in Rome.
Aidan Maurice Fayle
Joined the firm in 1987 as a candidate attorney. He left the firm and then returned in 1992. He attended the University of Natal where he read for and obtained a Bachelor of Arts and LL.B. as well as a PG Dip (Taxation) and is a Notary Public. Aidan has been a partner of Goodrickes for over 18 years. He specialises in all areas of the law of Succession such as drafting of Wills and Administration of Estates.
He further acts as a Curator in various matters, provides Notarial Drafting and Execution, Income Tax Compliance, Trust Formation and Administration.
Joined the firm in 2012 as an associate and as of 2017 is a partner at the firm. She attended the University of Pretoria where she obtained her LL.B. (cum laude) where after she attended the University of Leiden, obtaining her LL.M. in European and International Business Law. She is also an internationally accredited mediator.
She specialises in family, civil and commercial litigation and mediation. Lizl has a keen interest in Labour Law and acts as a correspondent for various attorneys across South Africa.
Thobani Siyabonga Manqele
Joined the firm in 2013 as a candidate attorney and as of 2017 is a partner at the firm. He has read for and obtained his LL.B. at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He specialises in asset foreclosures and debt recovery proceedings.
She attended the University of Natal and Cape Town University where she read for and obtained a Bachelor of Arts and LL.B. She is a registered Conveyancer and Notary Public and specialised in the law of property.
Joined the firm in 2014 as a candidate attorney and has stayed on as an associate. He has read for and obtained a B.A. at the University of South Africa and a LL.B. at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He specialises in insurance law, criminal law and debt collection.
Candidate Attorneys and Support Staff
The firm has one Candidate Attorney, Siziphiwe Shoba and a support staff of 12 people which include legal secretaries, bookkeepers, messengers and conveyancing paralegals. They assist the professional staff to provide the best possible service to all our clients.
