A fusion of beauty and practicality
Royalston is currently comprised of 185 residential properties, encompassing three villages: Canterbury, Livingstone and Winchester. In addition, a new Lifestage Village is currently under development.
The layout is strategically designed, and positions each home so that at least one boundary looks onto open space, providing homeowners with enjoyment of the countryside and wildlife.
The remaining 70% of the Estate forms part of the Royalston Nature Reserve.
Share your home with nature
The Reserve carries a diverse array of fauna and flora. The 1000 head of game frequent the Villages, allowing residents and their guests to view the wildlife from the comfort of their own homes as they roam the estate. The estate’s meticulous care and management ensure the preservation and sustainable integration of natural ecosystems, allowing families to harmoniously engage and interact with nature.
Our natural look and feel
Royalston Coastal Wildlife Estate incorporates classic contemporary architecture with interpretations of Afro-Colonial themes. Elements of stone and facebrick accentuate homes with high ceilings, large windows, open patios and entertainment areas. Natural wall paint colours and finishes are encouraged; with Coverland tiles, Victorian or Kliplok sheet roofing.
Infrastructure to suit the environment
Royalston has full services, including municipal water and electrical supply, full internal sewer reticulation and sewer plant, Telkom supply, stormwater control and paved roads. Royalston residents enjoy bulk in-house water filtration which is tailor-made for the estate, and is constantly monitored. Royalston also advocates rainwater harvesting, renewable energy, and eco-sensitive grey water systems.
All services are underground in order to avoid aesthetically displeasing overhead services. The sewer plant allows for all grey water to be re-used for irrigation on site, avoiding soak-away systems and water wastage.
The main gatehouse is permanently guarded and monitored, with rapid response teams made available. We take great pride in our recent security upgrades, which include state-of-the-art Thermal Image monitoring, electrified perimeter boundary, 24hr armed response, specially trained tracker dogs with licensed instructors and night patrol with mobile handheld thermal imaging monitors.
We are also currently rolling out fibre optics throughout the estate to improve telecommunication and integrative security systems.
All other general household and maintenance services are covered by the levies and managed by the on-site operations management team at the control offices.
