Royalston Coastal Wildlife Estate

Nestled amongst rolling hills and open fields, Royalston Coastal Wildlife Estate is a 1000 hectare secured reserve in Port Elizabeth where families escape the commotion of the city and interact harmoniously with nature.

Set with views over Seaview and Sardinia Bay, it is conveniently close to a variety of schools, shopping centers, private medical facilities, and leisure options.

Free-roaming game drift through homes as they migrate between the extensive lake and watering holes, while leisure bomas and bush campsites are interspersed around the reserve for barbecues or picnics with friends and family.

About the Estate

The development is located on the intersection of Kragga Kamma Road and Lakeside Road, in the suburb of Colleen Glen, extending south towards the ocean. Royalston enables families to live in a fully-fledged game reserve with the conveniences of everyday city living.

We are 22 km from the CBD of Port Elizabeth, with the multi-billion rand Baywest Mall development a 10 minute drive away and Walmer Park Shopping Centre just 16 km. Nearby, Woodridge serves as an excellent school for parents to consider.

Port Elizabeth’s premier wedding and conference venue, Lake De La Vie, is situated within the estate along the edge of the coastal forest. Overlooking Port Elizabeth’s largest freshwater lake, it provides breathtaking views on all sides.

A fusion of beauty and practicality

Royalston is comprised of 185 residential properties encompassing three villages, namely: Canterbury, Livingstone and Winchester.

The strategically designed layout positions each home such that at least one boundary looks onto open space, providing homeowners with enjoyment of the countryside and wildlife which make their way across lawns as they migrate towards the waterholes found between the villages.

The remaining 70% of the Estate forms part of the Royalston Nature Reserve

Share your home with nature

The Reserve carries a diverse array of fauna and flora. The free-roaming 1000 head of game frequent the Villages, allowing residents and their guests to view the wildlife from the comfort of their own homes as they traverse the estate. Sound management and preservation ensure the sustainable integration of natural ecosystems and residents, allowing families to harmoniously engage and interact with nature.

Our natural look and feel

Royalston Coastal Wildlife Estate incorporates classic contemporary architecture with interpretations of Afro-Colonial lodge themes. Elements of sandstone and face brick accentuate homes with high ceilings, large windows, exposed wooden beams and concertina doors open onto patios and entertainment areas.

Natural wall paint colours and finishes are encouraged; with Marley Tile, Victorian or IBR sheeting rooves.

Infrastructure to suit the environment

Royalston has full services, including municipal water supply, electrical supply, full internal sewer reticulation and sewer plant, Telkom supply, storm water control and paved roads. Notwithstanding, we do advocate the use of our approved solar renewable energy system providers, Sun Worx (Pty) Ltd, and encourage eco-sensitive grey water systems and rain harvesting.

All services are underground in order to avoid aesthetically displeasing overhead services. The sewer plant allows for all grey water to be re-used for irrigation on site, avoiding soak-away systems and water wastage. The permanently guarded main gatehouse carries a two lane resident entrance and exit, service entrance for larger vehicles, and rapid response teams made available. External electrified game fences are patrolled and further monitored by break alarms.

All other general household and maintenance services are covered by the levies and managed by the on-site operations management team at the control offices.

Residential Options

Fully serviced, Res 1 freehold plots vary in size between 1300 and 1800 m2, and are available from approximately R700,000.00 upwards, all inclusive.

Plot, plan and build purchase options are available from R3 000 000,000, and scaled in price.
