Dominant tree species include Wild Olives, Cabbage Trees and Acacia karoo. The vegetation type with its diverse plant species can support numerous wildlife species and is closely associated with Game Reserve developments in the area. There are sections of dense mesic and xeric (Dry and Moist) Valley Thicket, particularly on the steeper slopes.

Along the river there are numerous small floodplain which are relatively open and dominated by Buffalo Grass (Panicum maximum) and tall Acacia karoo in the deep sandy soils. Large Outeniqua Yellowwoods (Podocarpus falcatus) run the length of the riparian areas.

There are two cleared lands of 13,5 Ha and 8,5 Ha, which have been planted to permanent pastures. In addition to this there is a large area of previously cultivated land that have been densely encroached by Acacia karoo.
