Mountjoy Guest Lodge is situated in the peaceful residential area of St Michaels and only 150m (walking distance) from the main swimming beach. The close proximity to this pristine beach is often what attracts guests, especially in the summer holidays. St Michaels is very centrally located to most activities, restaurants, and shopping malls, just off the main road on the sunny South Coast of KZN.

The Property:

The reception area includes an office with storage space for filling and paperwork. There is a spacious seating area with an indoor garden and an outdoor veranda. A communal TV lounge and 2 guest toilets are included in this entrance/reception and office area.

There are 29 rooms in 3 different room types Economy Rooms (14 rooms) are our cheapest and most basic rooms with a ceiling fan, but do not have TVs or kettles Standard Rooms (7 rooms) are upstairs with a ceiling fan, TV and kettle Upgraded Rooms (8 rooms) are on the ground floor with a ceiling fan, TV and kettle. There is also a modified self-catering freestanding unit with a TV and a fully equipped kitchen which includes a fridge microwave, toaster, kettle with a hotplate/oven combo. All rooms have their own bathrooms with a toilet, basin, and either a bath or a shower.

The TOTAL guest capacity is 94 people.

There is secure off-road parking that can only be accessed with a code that is given to guests on arrival. This code can be changed when desired for security.

The large pool area has 3 communal braai facilities, a large and baby pool as well as a lappa and lounging grass area. The dining room large enough to accommodate all guests at full capacity.

There is a bar area connected to the dining room which is fully licensed. This bar area is made out of solid Beech Wood with bar stools, display cabinets, and under-counter fridges. A radio system has been installed that plays in the reception, dining room, and bar area. A coin-operated pool table is also in this area for guests entertainment.

The kitchen is large enough to cater for all guests and all meals if desired. The pantry holds all cutlery, crockery, and dry goods. The walk-in fridge and freezer make catering for large amounts of guests a dream.

There is also a laundry room with an industrial washing machine, dryer as well as linen press machine. There is a washing line area for air drying laundry as well. Next to the laundry room is a storeroom which houses cleaning supplies and materials as well as décor.

There are 3 staff living quarters that can accommodate a minimum of 7 staff members.

There is a workshop in this area too.

The owners house is on the property. The house is a double story, 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms home (3 of which are en-suite) with lounge, kitchen, and dining room. A small private garden area ensures that there is still an outside space that the owners can enjoy privately. There is also a double door private garage attached to the main house.

The current owners have been working hard at Mountjoy for 36 years and are looking to retire and enjoy the fruits of their labour.
