4 THE IMPROVEMENTS

This property was used for school camps where leader identification camps were held as well as the well know Veld Schools and Church camps etc. With all the facilities, this camp could easily accommodate 300 children and 90 staff.

The Main House:

The Main house is a combination of thatched & corrugated roof. It is a 5 x Bedroom house with 3 x Bathrooms, a Kitchen, Lounge and Dining room. This house has its own Lapa with built-in BBQ braai. There is an additional attached outside room as well as a double carport. The Laundry area has a corrugated roof and there is a toilet & wash basin.

Bush Camp:

The bush camp can accommodate up to 30 people. It consists of 7 x Thatched chalets. 5 of these Chalets share an ablution block and the other 2 x Chalets each have their own private bathrooms. There is a communal diningentertainment area with a kitchen.

Mountain Huts:

These Mountain Hunts can accommodate even more than 24 people. In total, there were 9 x Huts, but 3 x Huts were destroyed by a fire. There are currently 5 x thatched huts with tiled covering and 1 x Hut with thatch roof only. Each mountain hut has a large bedroom with bathroom shower, toilet & basin.

The Adventure Camp:

There are 2 x large dormitories with tiled roofs. Each dormitory has 4 rooms, accommodating 25 people each. So, in total, it can accommodate 200 people in 8 large dormitories rooms.

Thatched Ablution Block:

This ablution facility consists of the following:

Boys: 16 Showers, 16 Basins and 16 Toilets.

Girls: 16 Showers, 16 Basins and 16 Toilets.

Staff: 5 Showers, 5 Basins and 5 Toilets.

Main Camp:

There is a rustic main camp that can accommodate 100 people and it consists of

2 x Rondavels round chape chalets with shower, toilet & basin.

1 x Room have 2 x toilets, 4 x showers & basins.

Then there are 3 x Dormitories sharing ablution block.

Teachers Building:

This building area can accommodate 30 people as it consists of 12 x Bedrooms.

4 x Bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms shower, toilet, basin while the other 8 x bedrooms share 4 x bathrooms.

This building has a Kitchen & wash-up area, a large lounge recreation area and a private staff lapa with corrugated roof &BBQ braai area.

Lapa Area:

This Lapa is a thatched roof building, but the thatch is covered with tiles. This Lapa is used as dining hall and there is a massive swimming pool as well as a Boma & a BBQ braai area.

Church Hall Area:

This building is also partly thatched with a tile roof.

Kitchen & Serving area:

This kitchen and serving area is a corrugated roof building with a fully equipped kitchen with flat-top grill, cooking burners, under-counter fridge, cold room & wash-up area. There are 2 x storerooms for crockery & rations and there is an Office area next to kitchen with a Tuck-shop.

Additional Facilities:

adjacent to the Office and tuck-shop, is a private thatched staff lapa with braai & boma and a separate corrugated building with 2 x toilets & basins.

Managers House:

This Managers house has a corrugated iron roof and the house consists of 5 x bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a lounge and dining room as well as a sunroom. Adjacent to the Managers House is a separate standing flat that consists of 1 x bedroom with a bathroom and kitchen. There is an open shed, partly enclosed with a garage door and a storeroom also in close proximity to the managers house. It also includes a slaughter room and cold room not in working condition.
