To the north is the Pilansberg Mountains and reserve, a 60 km drive will take you to the gates of Sun City. The farm is a mere 2 hour drive from Gauteng on the N4 highway towards Rustenburg all the way to Swartruggens, leaving you with a mere 16 km of well maintained gravel road to reach the entrance of the farm.
With no dangerous animals on the farm, Bushbuck Hills Game Farm is a paradise for nature lovers. The farm offers a variety of walking trails and has an abundant amount of bird species on the farm for bird watchers. Utility quad bikes are also allowed on the farm whilst mountain bike and 4x4 enthusiasts can also enjoy themselves on different tracks.
At Bushbuck Hills Game Farm, you can come real close to giraffe, kudu,impala, blue wildebeest, zebra, gemsbuck, eland, red hartebeest, waterbuck, mountain reedbuck, blesbuck, warthog and all the other small game. Hunting season is from May till August every year and hunters are guided by the Farm Manager.

There are different hiking trails at Bushbuck Hills Game Farm. The trails are a series of loops for weekend visitors as well as a 2-day fully fledged hike for hikers. Trails vary in length depending on your hiking skills and the combination of trails chosen - from a 2 km circle route to a 11 km day trail.The shorter nature trails offers magnificent bird watching and tree spotting opportunities.
A number of 4 x 4 routes are available on the farm, some quite easy and some requiring considerable driver skills. The routes pass over mountainous rocks, through bushveld grasslands and ravines, and up to view points with most spectacular 360 degree views. Routes are clearly rated and marked on the farm and a detailed map is provided showing all the routes and their ratings.
The farm offers an unique quad biking experience with adventure, unforgettable game viewing and beautiful scenery - just bring your own bike! All tracks are eco friendly and you can enjoy a relaxing time with plenty of fresh air!
Mountain bike trails are clearly marked and rated on the farm. Some trails start in the foothills of the mountains and offers a number of serious rock obstacles, rapid descents and steep climbs as well as flat areas.
