80 ha farm in Stellenbosch Central
R 34 000 000Can I afford this?
A 80 hectares wine estate in Stellenbosch producing an average of 200 tons of grapes from 67.3 ha of vineyards with a 400 tons cellar. Other improvements includes two 3 bedroom houses and 4 staff cottages and a guest cottage on a beautiful dam.
The wine cultivars on the farm include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Riesling and Chenin Blanc. The Tuscan style cellar is partially sunken into the ground making it cooler for maturation and at the same time allowing the grapes to enter the cellar by gravitation (putting less strain on the grapes). Only 7% of the grapes are at present used in producing their own estate wines whilst the balance of the harvest is delivered to the local co-op (for which the farm has a 540 tons production quota). The cellar produces a Bordeaux style Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot and also an Italian style Sangiovese.
