Buyers can buy stands on this luxurious Hermanus lifestyle estate from R3m.

If you have not yet been to see the Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, the new and only one of its kind offering a luxury residential vineyard estate in the Hermanus/Overberg area, you are in for a treat according to Seeff agents, Dinita Hewett and Elmar van Tonder.

As you come down from the Elgin Valley and wind your way towards Hermanus, you will find the estate on the right, nestled on the banks of the Bot River Lagoon as it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Residents enjoy fabulous panoramic water views and of the surrounding countryside, the Palmiet and Kogelberg Mountains and vineyards and Olive groves of the estate.

Benguela Cove

The 220 hectare estate is a working wine and olive farm and a unique find in the area, says Hewett and van Tonder. It boasts 65ha of vineyards, 10ha of Olive groves and produces award-winning wines and produces wines with finesse and personality, capturing the sense of place.

The estate is located within a protected nature reserve teeming with birdlife. Only 124 plots have been released of which 70 are still for sale. 32 homes have already been built. The estate has strict, but workable architectural controls to ensure that your investment is protected.

Plot sizes range from around 1800sqm, priced from R3m to 4000sqm, priced at R6m for a location closest to the clubhouse. Built houses range from around R8m-R17m.

As a working wine farm, the estate has a huge commercial wine cellar with a tasting room, popular restaurant (Moody Lagoon Restaurant), deli and curios shop and facilities such as adventure golf for children.

Benguela Cove

There is water access with a jetty and slipway, boating garages, a clubhouse and storage. Activities include boating, water-skiing, kitesurfing, kayaking and open water swimming. There is also a swimming pool, tennis court, basketball and boule courts and an 11km walking/cycling track, all exclusively for residents’ use.

Property owners also enjoy an annual allocation of estate wines selected by the winemaker.

Benguela Cove is located only an hour’s drive from the Cape Town International Airport and is close to Hermanus with its many attractions including top schools, medical facilities and a new regional shopping mall.
