This newly built house design is influenced by the owners time spent in the orient and the co-operation of Jacques van Heerden the architect. This exquisite setting provides a rare opportunity to be at peace with nature. A wide, wooden deck with Jacuzzi/ splash pool connects faces due north. The entire face of this house is designed to open up with glass stacker doors for an indoor/outdoor experience. Slightly tinted Solar Glass is used to reflect the glare of the sun but allow total views of the lakes and the nature in every room. Only natural materials of wood, steel, glass and stone as in keeping with Zen philosophy have been used. This combined with the double volume of the house gives an air of space, tranquility and simplicity. High level windows allow you to sleep with the wonderful view of African starry nights. All north facing room are fitted with air conditioner/heaters. Rhodesian Teak has been used throughout the main areas of the house to give continuity and again a feeling of space. Kitchen tops are fitted with beautiful white Caesar Stone and steel five ring extra wide gas oven. An adjoining utility room with larder, china and laundry cupboards has been fitted with Rhodesian Teak work surfaces facing south and looking into the forest. Double volume internal doors are fitted with antique bronze finger plates and all door furnishing has been made to match. The bar area has an indoor Braai which doubles as a fire place in the winter as well as a central fireplace in the main living area. Spot lighting, wash lighting and dimmer switches allow you to control the mood of your living, sleeping and entertainment areas. Bathrooms are wet rooms and fully tiled also with stacker doors should you wish to shower whilst enjoying the nature. Privacy is total as you are too far away to be over seen except by the passing buck or fish eagles.
