1968 ha Farm in Barkly West

This 1968 ha. well developed irrigation and Live stock farm with an above average infrastructure and some good grazing is located on the banks of the Harts River nearby Spitskop dam in the Barkly West Rural area in the Northern Cape, with a fairly level topography, sloping only slightly towards the river. These irrigation farms are normally lower risk investments compared to most other farms and is regarded as acceptable security for financing purposes.

The farm contains 175 ha. of irrigation land, equipped with 8 pivots, and 1793 ha. of grazing land. The farm is registered for a highly valuable 129,5 ha. of scheduled water rights under management of the Vaalharts Water users Association. Water is supplied from the Vaalharts Irrigation Scheme, and also partly directly pumped from the Harts River. Water from the scheme is routed via canals into an irrigation dam from where it is distributed to the pastures.

The carrying capacity of the natural grazing is 10-12 ha. / LSU. The covering of the veld is normaly good.

The fences are in good condition. 3 Face Electricity is supplied by Eskom, with 5 power points in total. The farm also offers a house with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open plan kitchen and living area and a lapa. There are also 2 sheds and a Cattle Pen with a loading dock.
