We caught up with the Win A Home Season 3 design contestants and find out what they will bring to the table during the next ten weeks.
The only woman of the three design contestants, Juané Venter, is a candidate at WAUW architects in Cape Town. The 25-year-old is also a freelance photographer. She completed her Masters in Architecture in 2014 at the University of the Free State.
Congrats Juané! Tell us, why did you decide to enter Win A Home?
Juané: I always try to keep myself out of my comfort zone in order to grow and I saw this as the perfect challenge. I have never done something like this before.
What is the greatest thing about décor and design for you?
That you get to give a little bit of yourself in every design. It is essentially an art form that you express yourself in.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Nature, and the memories of places I've been to.
If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
South America!
What is the best advice you ever received?
Fear will pass but regret lasts forever.
Do you have a motto that you live by?
Do something that scares you everyday.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love being outdoors hiking, scuba diving and hanging out with my friends.
What is your favourite colour and why?
Black. It is timeless!
What do you look forward to the most in this season of Win A Home?
Working with Sumien Brink (Editor of VISI magazine) and the challenge of doing something I've never done before!
