The Johannesburg South Neighbourhood includes the suburbs of Bassonia, Glenvista, Lenasia, Oakdene, Winchester Hills and Mulbarton. Although the area is being developed fast, Johannesburg South still retains much of its natural beauty. With the endless hills disappearing into the horizon, and many exclusive wildlife estates, one might imagine being in a nature reserve. "The South", as it is most commonly referred to by the locals, is mainly divided into two main parts - the older part on the north side of the N12, and the newer part on the south of the highway. Kuilsriver offers a peaceful, country life and is a fast growing area, with many surrounding farms and small holdings. Milnerton is a laid back, relaxed neighbourhood that's just a 15 minute drive away from the Cape Town CBD. The area has an abundance of natural beauty with Milnerton lagoon, Woodbridge Island, Rietvlei Nature Reserve and Milnerton Beach nearby. Residents take maximum advantage of the surroundings to participate in outdoor pursuits like canoeing, surfing, stand up paddling, kite surfing and running. The area is served by a number of shopping centres including Canal Walk, Bayside Mall and the Paddocks Shopping Centre. Pretoria Moot is North of central Pretoria. It is bordered by Meintjieskop to the south, Skurweberg or Vlakkopies to the north. The Pretoria Moot area has a strong sense of community with generations returning to live in the unique ‘urban village’ setting. The current Home Owners and Residents Association strives to maintain the restful atmosphere and currently employs a private security company, on behalf of the residents, to aid with crime prevention. This is proving to be effective and is supported by the South African Police. This unique atmosphere and the semi – rural setting of the suburb contribute strongly to its ongoing popularity and good capital growth. A further unique factor is the Academic Hospital which is located 3kms beyond the area. A number of specialising doctors leave and arrive annually and seek to buy property close to the hospital for the period of their specialisation.

Northcliff is one of the older, more established areas in Johannesburg. It is highly sought-after by those looking for a tranquil and exclusive lifestyle. Luxurious estates, private schools, top-class healthcare, retirement villages and other facilities are contributing to the upward trend in this bustling, rapidly developing area.
