Live the Life you Love in the Country
This fully sustainable farm with off the grid solar, set in the Kamberg is far from the maddening crowd. Nestled below the Kamberg mountains with magnificent views from the 2 houses and two cottages and a dam filled with Bass for the fisherman. Here we find a 21.1 hec workable farm filled with fruit trees, vineyard of cabernet grapes ready for wine making, trees are lemon, orange, lime, apples, pear and fig trees with blueberry plants and stands for raspberries with a delightful, heated tunnel to grow vegetables in.
A unique feature of this tunnel is the donkey boiler secured in a room that feeds through copper pipes heated water underground to keep the tunnel warm and the roof has imported poly carbonated sheeting from Israel above allowing just enough light through with a sprinkler system in place. Alongside we find a Nursery tunnel for seed germination. The 3 phase borehole feeds 5 JoJo tanks with a 60 KVA generator on standby.
The whole farm can be off the grid with the 2 x 1000-amp battery packs/hour commissioned in 2014 with batteries lasting 15 years all found in the battery room leading of a large shed with extra tool room. Further we find sheep houses in two pens and two fully enclosed chicken houses. Solar panels are found in abundance positioned North to collect the most sun and extra panels on top of the one-bedroom cottage and 4 staff room quarters. All geysers are 300 L solar gas and geared for off the grid with a bulk gas storage gated area for all houses. Alongside we find a worm farm and further around the corner we find an area full of all nut trees imaginable, pecan, brazil to name a few all enclosed in a durable fence. There is a large open shed area for wood and coal storage compromising of six bays. A huge extra is the Root cellar found close to the dam dug into the side of the hill creating a 2-room cold storage place for wines or cheeses.
Fully airconditioned as well with a separate DB board for the solar power. There is a further large 3 roomed building used at present for a cheese factory with full electrics, solar and solar gas geysers that can be easily converted into a residence to rent. The main house fully surrounded by electric fences has underfloor heating under tiles with a wood burning stove in a spacious double kitchen to warm the chilly nights. The Kitchen has a gas Smeg stove with eye level Elba electric oven. A plus is the walk-in pantry for that budding chef. A spacious dining room and lounge with jet master opens through double doors so one can entertain onto the wrap around veranda. The large main carpeted bedroom has a large modern full en-suite with full cupboards creating a changing room and doors also leading from the bedroom onto the wrap around veranda. The carpeted second bedroom with built in cupboards has an en-suite shower with toilet and third bedroom leads out onto a patio. The second house has 2 bedrooms en-suite with a study, lounge, open plan kitchen and dining room. All houses have 300L solar gas geysers. Further we have an abattoir with three rooms with full electricity and a hay storage shed with a milking parlor.
