On our Coast, the Atlantic Ocean forms the magnificent St. Helena Bay that stretches all the way from Shelley Point to Elands Bay. We have access to very calm sea conditions. All kinds of water sports are possible most of the year.

Wintertime is snoektime on the West coast, and both catching and eating is very popular here. Apart from the sea, we have direct access to the Bergriver with its abundant bird life. You can easily navigate your boat down the river for almost 40 km, and sightings of the African Eagle are quite common. Our river easily passes the 20-degree mark during summer,r although the seawater on the West Coast is generally cold.
