Have you ever been confronted with questions from landlords and tenants, changes to the law, issues with leases, problems with mandates, a landlord who requests legal action against his tenants, and so on – and been stumped for an answer or the advice needed? These are issues that sometimes fall out of rental agents’ knowledge, and which may require you to seek assistance.

But help is at hand! The Rental Retainer Club offers rental agents a direct link to Marlon Shevelew, an award-winning specialist rental property attorney, by email, for assistance with any residential rental property-related questions.

What’s in it for you?

As a club member you’ll receive:

  • an hour a month (valued at R1 800 plus VAT) of email advice, which can be up to five emails a month of detailed answers to your questions;

  • exposure of your agency on Marlon’s busy website and the club’s Facebook page.

  • an entrée to endorsed rental property products as they hit the market;

  • permission to insert the club logo on your email signature or website so that your clients know you have a rental property expert attorney on retainer; and

  • a monthly newsletter with articles of interest, tips and practical information on rental property law, and facts from cases that the firm has argued in court.

Any rental agent who joins the club also is also entitled to use Marlon Shevelew and Associates Inc, or any of its nationwide affiliates, for discounted fees on rental collection or residential eviction work. This discount is worth so much more than the membership cost: it pays to be a member even if the “email hour” is not used!

Branches of Seeff, Pam Golding, RE/MAX, Rawson, RealNet, Aida, Acutts, Leapfrog, Only Rentals, Just Letting, Sothebys, National Letting, Dormehl, Harcourts, Huizemark, Angor, Tyson, and Engel & Völkers, are already making use of their memberships.

Join the Rental Retainer Club now!* Simply email Marlon to receive the *one-page agreement and some testimonials to have a look at.

What’s it cost?

The cost is R350 plus VAT per month, for one hour of emailed advice. That's about five emails a month of personally-written answers and legal advice that attorney Marlon Shevelew provides for any rental property-related questions or concerns that you may have. This can include: landlord grievances; tenant defenses; duties of the rental agent; lease disputes; clause interpretation; which sections of the CPA and RHA apply; and practical, lateral and logical advice from a practicing rental property litigation attorney.

The membership is terminable on a month’s notice so you’re not locked in. Try it!
