Win A Home goes green

Tonight’s episode of Win A Home showcases green living – and shows off a spectacular example of eco-friendly architecture.

Designed by Enrico Daffonchio in a striking, modernist style, this luxurious country home is nestled unobtrusively in the undulated landscape of the prestigious Monaghan Farm. Subtly disguised by their earthy colours, the contemporary décor and clean lines complement this simple, layered house.

A landmark of “green architecture”, this energy-efficient home boasts the latest in green technology. A bank of photovoltaic panels on the roof generates most of the electricity. Heat pumps supply hot water, under-floor heating and a heated pool. The home has a wood burner for extra-cold winter nights and, in summer, cool and airy circulation between the living areas is ensured by evaporative coolers and double-glazed windows.
