Seaside Sundays in Cape Town

Private Property South Africa
Charis Le Riche

The Atlantic Seaboard is the place to be on a Sunday if you want to enjoy some of Cape Town’s best restaurants, sea views and family fun activities.

Here are a few of our favourite things to do:

Start your day with jazz

Considered one of Cape Town’s leading hotels, the Winchester Mansions is a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike, and the jazz brunch every Sunday in Sea Point is not to be missed. You’ll get to enjoy the sunshine in the stunning Harveys Restaurant courtyard, a buffet to die for (from bacon and eggs, to a carvery and even sushi) and you’ll be serenaded by some of the country’s top jazz ensembles.

Head over there from 11am till 2pm and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly while Tina Schouw backed by Andrew Lilley, Dave Ridgeway and Maurice Gawronsky ease you into the new week.

Ice cream Sundays

There’s just something about the sea and ice cream – they go so well together. That’s why your next stop has to be The Creamery in Mouille Point. Indulge in delicious milkshakes, hot artisanal cookies with ice cream, or go for the more traditional scoop on a cone. All ingredients are sourced from local farms that grow and produce them in a way that is kind to the environment and to animals.

Curtain call

Dinner and a show is one of the best ways to round off¬ an evening. Theatre on the Bay in Camps Bay is known for amazing productions of local and international shows, and features anything from dramas and comedies, to musicals and cabarets.

Arrive early and enjoy a light snack at the Act 1 Theatre Cafe before taking in the current show, My Fat Friend – an unmissable comedy starring beloved funny man, Tobie Cronje.

Atlantic Seaboard
Beautiful views, beautiful people
Living in the Atlantic Seaboard is the perfect culmination of all things great. The Atlantic Seaboard is comfortably wrapped between the coastline and the mountains. It is an exclusive area with beautiful homes on the mountain, allowing for incredible sea views. Waking up to the fresh smell of the ocean and going for a run along the promenade is standard practice among residents in these areas. It is close to the city centre, with easy access to the national highways, and right on the beachfront.
