This well known school's earliest beginnings go as far back as 1959, when the school was officially inaugurated as Lyttelton High School . With the humble beginnings of only 225 pupils and 13 staff members, this small high school made steady progress and was re-named after this rapidly growing, and newly named suburb of Verwoerdburg. After 59 years, the school received its third name, Centurion High School, and currently employs 72 teachers and has enrolled 1238 students this year.
