Located on the corner of Dan Pienaar and Wanless Roads in Glenwood, Durban, Eden College is situated on a superb campus with a number of fine facilities.

Catering for Grade 000 to 12, Eden College is a small school where the individual is nurtured and supported in his pursuit of excellence. The learners and staff at the school co-exist in an environment that is akin to that of a family. As one of the most multi-cultural and inclusive schools in the region, Eden’s diversity gives the school a distinctive, celebrated vibrancy.

Eden College endows its learners with all of the skills they will need to succeed in their pursuits. The central focus of the school is academic, and the intimate size of the classes means that the potential and talents of every learner are identified and cherished, and difficulties addressed. The academic success of all learners is the key focus of the highly qualified and experienced staff, all of whom are unparalleled educators in their respective fields. From the foundation grades within the school, learners are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their studies which will give them a superior grounding in tertiary study.

Originality and creativity are encouraged, and all achievements are supported, praised and commended. The school has a particularly active and renowned Specialist Arts programme including a choice of Art, Dance, Drama and Music. The 100% university entrance acceptance, and the highest rate of distinctions in the country in 2010, bear testament to the success of Eden College within the academic sphere (an average of over 4 distinctions per candidate - NSC 2010). Most matriculants go on to graduate from South African universities, as well as institutions overseas, and the most popular career choices include Medicine, Engineering and Accounting.

The rich classroom experience at Eden College is supported by a comprehensive co-curricular programme that encompasses most of the usual school sports, but also including others such as sailing, judo, karate and yoga. Culturally, there is an assortment of activities to choose from including the school’s award-winning debating teams, drama, dance, music and art – all of which culminate in a number of shows, exhibitions and tours where the learners showcase and further develop their talent.

Eden College has also made a formidable name for itself as the leading environmentally-conscious school in Durban. It has certainly earned its Eco-School status, which it has held for some years, running a wholly successful Eco-fair, and having a number of students presenting ‘green’ papers at national conferences. The consciousness of the learners is further enhanced through social responsibility initiatives such as the Inter-Act Club and AfriTwin programme. The school is part of the AfriTwin group, which links a local disadvantaged school with Eden College and a British school, and aids in upliftment by facilitating dialogue and developing tolerance and understanding.

Eden College is a small school with a big heart and even bigger results!
