Junior Colleges Castillian – Investors in People

Located in the well known “castle” in Meyersdal, Alberton, Junior Colleges Castillian has built itself a reputation within the community as a school that builds strong foundations.

The primary aim of Junior Colleges Castillian is to provide a stimulating, safe school environment where children can receive an excellent education. This task is undertaken by a staff of 26 teachers, all of whom display the right balance of care, skill and dedication to every individual within their classes. It is through this happy, carefree atmosphere that children are endowed with positive attitudes towards learning – something they will retain throughout their school years.

At Junior Colleges Castillian, the Government Curriculum is enhanced by INPP and the well received THRASS Reading and Writing system. Through the use of an interactive Whiteboard the school is well-equipped to give learners a meaningful introduction to the latest in technology – ensuring lessons are enriching, exciting and build on the theoretical guidance offered in conventional school lessons. In addition to the school’s fine teaching body, Junior Colleges Castillian also makes use of a Gross Motor Skills specialist and a Kinderkinetika teacher.

For the older learners, class time is complemented by a number of educational trips during the year to venues such as Gold Reef City, The Johannesburg Zoo and The Planetarium.

Parents are as much a part of the school community as the children at Junior Colleges Castillian, and a number of exciting events are planned for the academic year where parents are welcomed to gain insight into the atmosphere and ethos of the school.
