Montessori East – Where an Exciting and Unforgettable Time is Guaranteed

For the first seven years, a child’s brain is like a sponge – they have an absorbent mind. At Montessori East, children are given the best opportunities to develop their brains. Therefore, every child is seen as an individual, and is treated with respect. The school wants them to develop their own personalities and to be independent. Students are taught life skills, grace and courtesy so they can be polite to adults and their peers.

Based in Jacques Street in Moreletha Park, Montessori East offers children the benefits of Montessori education in a residential area. Montessori East is an intentionally small school, with thirty learners shared between two teachers and two assistants. As a result, your child is afforded the attention of these qualified educators in an intimate environment, where children are encouraged to learn at their own pace and according to their interests.

The school follows a basic curriculum for children between the ages of two and six years old. The lessons and equipment are geared towards primary school readiness and, in their final years at the school, they are taught thorough writing and mathematical skills. This gives them a comprehensive foundation upon which they can commence their formal schooling. In addition to this, Montessori East arranges for educational visits during the course of the school year to add to the curriculum on offer.

At Montessori East, the care of children is paramount. In accordance with this philosophy, they offer breakfast, a snack and lunch – all of which helps little ones to concentrate optimally during the course of the school day. There is also an Aftercare facility available, which ensures that parents have peace of mind that their children are in capable hands and an enriching environment whilst they are at work. If this facility is utilised by parents, they will be required to provide a 3pm snack.

A supervised homework group is also on offer for primary school children on the Montessori East premises. Lunch is provided for these children. In addition to this, there is a safe, private transport facility on offer to all children who are part of the Montessori East family.
