PEPPS Polokwane College – Success through Endeavour

The Project for the Establishment of Primary and Pre-Primary Schools (PEPPS) was originally founded to provide multi-racial, affordable private schools offering quality education. Since opening in 1991, PEPPS Polokwane College has adapted its vision as it has expanded, to become one of the most highly respected schools in the area.

PEPPS Polokwane College achieves excellent results through their ethos of care. It is through the positive learning environment at the school that learners are encouraged to develop and reach their potential. The commitment of each learner to the attainment of their best is made possible through the philosophy of tolerance and respect in the school. This means that a diverse learning community exists within the school, where the individual is valued and given the confidence to excel.

There are a broad range of Matric subjects on offer at PEPPs Polokwane. These include Accounting, Business Studies, Computer Applications Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design, Geography, History, Information Technology, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. The facilities are currently being put in place to add Art to this list. In addition to these, PEPPS is the only school in the province to offer Music as a Matric subject. The new Hamilton Music Centre offers two classrooms, an auditorium, a sound recording room, four sound-proof practise rooms and a computer centre designed specifically for the writing of music. The highly qualified teachers in the centre have diverse musical experience and enrich their students with their broad-based knowledge. The vision of the centre is to become a hub for the advancement and celebration of music in Limpopo.

PEPPS Polokwane College is a school offering modern facilities in a rural setting. These are surroundings that the staff and learners celebrate as an Eco-School. They have received gold awards for their environmental and community projects in the past, and the school has achieved International Eco-Flag status through their on-going efforts in these important areas.

In addition to the rich academic life on offer at PEPPS Polokwane, there is a variety of extra-curricular activities available to aid in giving learners a balanced education and all-round development. These include recreational and competitive sporting and cultural disciplines. These activities also include an element of life skills and leadership. The mentorship programme at PEPPS Polokwane College gives learners the opportunity to associate with one another on a monthly basis, to discuss any instances of trauma or stress in their lives with their peers. Senior mentors are on-hand to suggest counselling in more serious cases, but the mentorship system has proven largely beneficial in addressing the ever-evolving needs of learners in the school environment.
