Set across 133 hectares in the Eastern Cape, this is not a farm defined by output or ambition, but by something far rarer, a deep sense of belonging. It is a place where life slows, where the noise of the world fades, and where nature gently sets the rhythm of each day.

The present owners arrived in South Africa many years ago and bought two properties, a home on the canals in St Francis Bay, and this farm in the valley. What began simply as a country escape slowly became something far more meaningful. The more time they spent here, the more it felt like home in the truest sense of the word, a place they never again wished to leave.

And so, for the following 23 years, this became the centre of life. Not a project, not an enterprise, but a place to live, to breathe, and to be. Here, mornings arrive softly over the valley, evenings settle with birdsong, and time is marked more by seasons than by schedules.

Over the years, life unfolded gently and naturally. Family and friends gathered around long tables, children explored the veld and riverbanks, conversations lingered late into the evening, and countless quiet moments became treasured memories. There is a certain nostalgia woven into this place, not from grandeur or excess, but from a life deeply lived and deeply appreciated.

The land itself is alive in a quiet, unassuming way. Small herds of blesbok and impala move freely, bushbuck and duiker appear unexpectedly, and the valley carries the constant presence of birdlife, water, and wind. Around the homes, olive and avocado trees have grown alongside years of care, offering both shade and sustenance. There is space here, to grow vegetables, to walk, to reflect, and simply to exist without urgency.

The main home around 150 square meters itself speaks of passion, simplicity, and humbleness. It is, dating back to around 1840, that carries its history with grace. Original yellow wood and Oregon pine ceilings remain, alongside the small details doors, hinges, and frames that have quietly endured the passing of time. One additional home, modest and well-kept, offers comfort in a separate area on the farm around 150 square meters. One flatlet or guest quarters, tucked beside the main house, looks out over the Seekoei River valley, a place where guests become part of the stillness, rather than visitors to it.

Life here has never been about complexity or commercial ambition. The farm is fully off-grid, sustained by solar power, water drawn from the earth, and a natural rhythm that asks little and gives much. It is self-sufficient in the truest sense, not only in resources, but in spirit.

It is in this spirit that a new custodian is sought. Not to limit the imagination or ingenuity of future owners, but with the hope that this remains what it has always been, a deeply loved home. A place where simplicity is valued, privacy respected, and where the rare peace of the valley can continue to be appreciated for generations to come.
