A borehole pump transfers water to an elevated holding tank, from which it flows by gravity into two 5,000-litre storage tanks. A pressure pump supplies the main residence, shed and cottage from these tanks.

Electricity, Solar Power and Hot Water

The off-grid solar System comprises 16 solar panels, a Victron 5 kVA system and 2 x Freedom 1 5 kVA batteries. Monitoring is available through an app, and the electrical supply is single-phase throughout.

The main property has a Bosch condensing gas geyser manufactured in Portugal, which reduces gas usage by approximately 40.

The property has operated successfully off-grid for seven years.

Wastewater and Sanitation

Two septic tanks have associated soakaways: one serves the house and the other serves the cottage and staff accommodation. Toilets, basins and sinks discharge to the septic tanks, while showers and baths discharge to the soakaways.
