Via Middelpos to the Gannaga Pass, the property is approximately 170 km north-west of the well-known tourist town Sutherland.

The R355 road runs along the western boundary of the property.

The farmhouse lies quietly and sheltered near the eastern boundary of the farm, along the old Hammelhoek gravel road as if time moves slower here.

The 270 m2 dwelling, now weathered and uninhabitable, still carries the traces of what was once a stately Karoo home a true grand old lady with character and history. The house consists of two adjoining sections, one of which previously served as a small school.

The main section houses a simple kitchen with a cement floor and a living area with old built-in display cupboards and original wooden floors. Three of the bedrooms still retain their wooden beams and floors of earlier days, while a spacious bathroom with bath and toilet completes the original layout. A set of historic stairs leads to the attic that runs the full length of the house.

The former school section offers two spacious rooms with exposed wooden beams and cement floors, as well as a separate toilet no bathroom.

Typical Tankwa Karoo veld with indigenous shrubs such as ankerkaroo, bitterbos, gannabos, kapokbos, renosterbos, bidaouwbos and boesmankersbos flowering in July, supplemented by grass species such as boesmangras, rooisaadgras, vingerhoedgras and kweekgras, as well as vygies that bloom like a purple carpet in August.
