212.2 ha Farm in Dargle

This 212ha farm situated on the Everglades Road in the Dargle Valley is 35km from the town of Howick, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. It consists of Pig styes (3 x 330m2), Feed shed (221m2), Main house, 3 x 2 Bedroom cottages, Workshop, Staff accommodation, 143ha Veld grazing, 46ha dryland pastures, and 19ha Shrub.

Water is from 2 boreholes on the property.

There are cattle handling facilities on the farm.

An EIA has been approved by the KwaZulu-Natal Dept of Economic Development, Tourism & Environments Affairs for the expansion of the piggery breeder facility worded as follows:-

The expansion and related operation of facilities for the concentration of animals in densities that will exceed -

8 square meters per small stock unit, where the expansion will constitute more than A-. 1000 additional units per facility or more excluding pigs where B applies, or, B-. 250 additional pigs, excluding piglets that are not yet weaned.
