As soon as one crosses the Berg River north towards Aurora, the tension and stress of urban living is released and, although Cape Town is now less than a two-hour drive away along the much-improved N7, the desire to return to the Big City is very much diminished.

Aurora has limited commercial activity and is not on a through route to any major towns as a result, traffic is almost non-existent. Velddrif and Piketberg are pleasant options catering for most shopping needs, and Vredenburg, 15 minutes-drive from Velddrif, fulfils every requirement.
