Private Property South Africa

Leaders, not followers

We really value our status of innovator in this new world of finding property online. Building really great technology has made the people behind Private Property a tight team and enables us to craft world-class tools for agents and browsers in Africa.

Private Property has brought many online initiatives to the real estate industry. We introduced online apps, mobi sites, a software system that was ahead of its time, augmented reality, virtual and video tours, to mention a few. And in a week’s time you can browse our new website – the latest in our long list of innovations.

As estate agents you will understand the difference between a competitor who has integrity, who works together with you, shares mandates and works for the better of the industry as a whole – and the agent who tries to poach your top performers, spreads rumours, and tries to steal your mandates by offering an unsustainably low commission with the intention of renegotiating the terms when the deal is done.

We do not safeguard our software. Rather, we openly share it with anyone who wants to use it. We do not try to poach from our competitors, preferring instead to train and develop our own resources to be the best in their field. We evolve every time an idea or innovation is copied, because we know we cannot succeed by following others.

We will not claim to be twice the size of our closest competition and we will not present data unless it is backed up with real facts. Our internal metrics show Private Property has significantly more traffic than those shown on ComScore. In fact ComScore is not widely used as it doesn’t operate in South Africa at all. They use what we call extrapolated panel data (a highly inaccurate sample from a very small group of users which is very easily manipulated).

We at Private Property like healthy competition. We continue to be transparent and honest with the industry, and always give you the correct facts.

We are taking the lead again with the release of our new website. People should be inspired when looking for their next home. It’s more than just an investment it’s a lifestyle choice. Great imagery, convenient features and beautiful properties all add up to make their house hunting an enjoyable experience. Let our new site showcase your listings and connect you to buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants.
