Suburb focus on Fourways

Private Property South Africa

The ongoing commercial development in Fourways makes the area a homebuyers’ den in the northern suburbs.

Estate agents note that the amount of retail, commercial and residential property and infrastructure development currently taking place has seen the greater Fourways area become greater Johannesburg’s fastest growing node.

Young professional, Karabo Mashego, who has lived in the area for the past three years, loves to the convenience of vibrant Fourways.

“It’s close to the main roads and the Gautrain bus stop at Montecasino, making my commute to Sandton a lot easier.”

Mashego says Fourways has everything one needs, from shopping centres, to areas of entertainment and schools, which means you can live and play within the area without having to travel far. The Fourways Mall is currently being renovated to turn it into a super-regional mall and will have new stores, while Fourways Crossing has also been renovated to improve shopper experience.

For those with children, there are a number of good public and private schools in the area. There are also a number of hospitals and medical centres.

On weekends, Mashego goes to Virgin Active at Cedar Square for a good workout. He can shop at Fourways Mall or Cedar Square for his weekly groceries. He often meets friends for brunch at Fournos at Fourways Crossing.

Lunch could either be at Mugg and Bean at Broadacres or Turn ‘n Tender at Dainfern Square, and Montecasino is ideal for an evening out. With three hotels and a number of fast food eateries and fine dining restaurants, as well as entertainment, it’s easy to do so much in one place.

Since I rely on public transport, I love the convenience of being close to main roads and shopping centres all within walking distance

Karabo Mashego, resident.
