Woodhill offers magnificent views and modern living in a secure environment with a country feel. The suburb consists mainly of The Woodhill Residential Estate and Country Club with more than 850 upmarket residences and is situated between De Villebois Mareuil Drive to the south, Atterbury Road to the east, Garsfontein Road to the west and Solomon Mahlangu Drive to the north.
Every stand in the estate is situated in relation to the 18-hole Peter Matkovich golf course to make the most of the estate’s natural beauty. A large piece of Woodhill was originally home to a dairy farm owned by the Wolfaardt family from 1927 until 1994. The suburb is close to the N1 highway but far enough from the city to retain an out-of-town feel and security is a high priority with controlled entrances and guards patrolling 24/7.
Woodhill is known as a golfing destination of choice in Pretoria with a beautifully manicured course ranked among the top 100 courses in South Africa. The services of teaching professionals are available to assist in all coaching at the driving range or at the pitching and putting greens that have stunning scenery and natural features.
The clubhouse is a focal point of the suburb, overlooking the ninth and 18th greens with a panoramic view of the estate and course, and it has a range of venues for meetings, seminars, corporate events, golf days and weddings. Woodhill is close to many schools including Woodhill College, next to the estate, Maragon Private Schools, Doxa Deo, the American International School of Johannesburg and Hoërskool Garsfontein.
The suburb has two tennis courts and two squash courts as well as a play area for children. The Netcare Pretoria East Hospital is located opposite the estate. Everything you need is conveniently close at hand, and the Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve, with a number of guided hiking trails for outdoor enthusiasts, is nearby. There are also shopping centres nearby such as Parkview and Woodlands Boulevard that have retail outlets, restaurants and entertainment such as The Barnyard Theatre.
Woodhill offers a quality lifestyle with security and beautiful scenery which attracts young buyers and more established investors. Residents enjoy a harmonious existence in an idyllic environment with schools, medical, shopping and entertainment facilities all within walking distance.
“It is liberating to wake up in the morning and look out onto rolling lawns of green without high walls and fences. On weekends or afternoons you see children playing outside or riding their bicycles as children should. Safety is the greatest feature and is the reason my family moved into the area.” Vernise Snowball, resident.
