The Win A Home show is back, and due to the overwhelming response, the Design Challenge has been extended.

The new season of Win a Home brought to you by Private Property in proud association with Nedbank is calling all aspiring interior designers! Due to an overwhelming response, the Win a Home Season 3 applications have been extended to the 18th of April. South Africa’s favourite interior design reality TV show Win a Home is joining forces with SABC3 talk show, Afternoon Express hosted by the glamorous Afternoon Express presenters. Every weekday between 4pm and 5pm a quarter of Afternoon Express will be dedicated to the reality and real-estate, drama and high-design of an all new season of Win a Home.

Win a Home spring-boarded the careers of the previous designer winners Donald Nxumalo (2014) and Jacoline Sema (2015) who have since made a big impact on South African interior design industry. The 2016 design challenge applications are now open and the closing date has been extended to Monday the 18th of April. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for passionate and qualified designers with less than five years work experience looking to make it big in interior design. This year the design challenge contestants will be vying for two prizes. One will be the Judges Choice, where the judges will pick a design winner who will receive R50 000 prize money as well as a coveted internship with global interior design company, ARRCC, with mentoring by Stefan Antoni and the ARRCC team. In addition, this season the Win a Home viewers will be able to have their say, and vote online for their favourite rooms. The design challenge contestant with the most accumulated votes at the end of the competition will win R50 000. If the judges and viewers are in agreement this means that one design contestant could potentially win both prizes!

Win a Home are only choosing three of SA’s top emerging designers to turn three white-box apartments into haute couture homes on the prestigious Val De Vie estate in the Cape Winelands. Paint partner Plascon will be providing the contestants with expert advice on colour to create on-trend living spaces with premium quality paint. The contestants will also be collaborating with Caesarstone, sculpting their quartz surfaces in new and imaginative ways. Another exciting development for Season 3 is that this year competing designers will be mentored by three of South Africa's leading home decor magazines: VISI, Elle Decoration and Real Estate Magazine. Each of the three participating designers will be assigned a magazine title, who will guide them through the design process. Plus, these magazines will each do a feature spread on their mentee's completed apartment.

Applicants can log on to www.privateproperty.co.za ,click on the Win a Home logo, fill out the application form, and send a design portfolio to winahome@cardova.tv. Applications close on the 18th of April. Terms and conditions can be found on the website.
