Midrand, also known as the Halfway House, was established as a municipality in 1981. It is a very vibrant, accessible area that is growing at a rapid rate. Families flock to the area to take advantage of the laid back lifestyle and variety of amenities. There is plenty of employment nearby, with many large businesses taking advantage of Midrand's convenient location between big cities. Vodacom, Cell C, Neotel, Altech Autopage and many more large companies have offices situated here, and with its growing residential areas this is one of the up and coming areas in South Africa.

The Gautrain is a very popular and convenient mode of transport in Midrand. People use the Gautrain for commuting to work, and when visiting places outside this area. Vodacom World is located in this neighbourhood and is the only cellular mall of its kind in the world. The Lory Park Zoo is one of the famous weekend daytime social activities, with a large variety of animals. Olifantspruit Dam is a popular spot for water skiing.
World of Golf is located in Midrand, it's South Africa’s only golfing theme park. Providing professional and amateur golfers with a variety of amazing facilities. Kyalami, an international renowned racetrack, is in Midrand and is the venue for many of South Africa's premier motor racing events.
The Gallagher Convention Centre is one of Africa’s largest conference and exhibition venues over a 30-hectare property with beautiful gardens, located in Midrand. Competitive action sport is a popular evening activity for the young and old alike. There is a combination of property styles in this neighbourhood, from apartment blocks to new developments, as well as retirement villages.
