Privateproperty.co.za keeps on bringing it!

Private Property South Africa
Mark Coetzee

I’m pretty sure that you will agree with me when I say that this year has really been a blur! Our industry has faced so many new challenges and often we are bombarded with new ideas and promises only to be disappointed when we find the promises that we have been made are empty.

We at Privateproperty.co.za are not without fault for the mistakes we make. We believe that we lead the online space with new, innovative thinking. Being the industry portal leader means that we get to make the mistakes and others get to copy.

But it also means that we will always be the portal that provides the best value simply because we are prepared to try new ideas and, more often than not, our innovate thinking translates to better results for our customers. This is something that we are proud of and a promise that we make to our industry.

A show of our commitment to value

Recently we teamed up with the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa (IEASA) and hosted free seminars around the country with well-known real estate trainer Trevor Gaw. The training took place in Durban, Pretoria and Cape Town, and all who attended were treated to two discussions:

  • Who are you?

  • Are you the master of what you do?

These seminars gave us the opportunity to both support IEASA and also give some valuable training back to the agents who support us. Everyone who attended left fully charged and ready to take what they had learned to the market! Given the success of the events we have decided to add this as a permanent value proposition for 2013, so expect more events with some really interesting topics and speakers.

It’s all about the leads

I’m sure you’ve been exposed to a lot of discussion around which online option you should choose for marketing your property. The reality is that you should be including both Privateproperty.co.za and other portals in your marketing planning. Our opinion is that that you need both major portals to ensure that you cover all your online options. What is interesting to note is that both portals reach a very unique audience so your money won’t be wasted if you support both portals. The below graphic illustrates that only 20% of visitors go to both portals. This means that 80% of the visitors that come to Privateproperty.co.za are unique to us. That’s an interesting statistic.

But, we decided a while ago to stop using browsers as a comparison. This benchmark can easily be manipulated. What we rather encourage you to do is compare the leads per property generated off each option. At the end of the day it’s all about where the source of the sale was originated, and this is where we are really far ahead. Our stats show that we generate 3 times more leads per property than our nearest competitor. So when it comes to return on investment there really isn’t a comparison to be made. Recently we added a brilliant new lead reporting tool to our product suite. This report will help agents and principals to track the leads we send by allowing you to view the leads at any time over a selected date period. I’m sure this will help every office to be far more proactive with the leads they receive. If you need more information on how to use this report please contact Ashleigh and we will arrange for someone to visit you to demonstrate.

Leads received per property listed

I wish you happy selling!

Mark
