Parkview suburb review

Private Property South Africa

A leafy, family-friendly area with a community feel, paired with an excellent location make Parkview a popular choice for Joburg’s property buyers.

About the area

Living in Parkview has a charm and prestige to it, thanks to the area being one of The Parks’ precinct of well-established suburbs in Joburg.

Furthermore, estate agents point to the fact that buyers are drawn to the area because of its aesthetic appeal with tree-lined streets, the abundance of parks, recreational areas and good amenities.

Young families such as Samantha Ochse-Smith and Jean Ochse, together with their two children have lived in Parkview since 2009 and they allude to the fact that its community feel and convenient location ticked the right boxes when buying.

“We love Parkview as it is a family area with well-established parks such as the George Hay Park, the Johannesburg Zoo and the Zoo Lake.”

Parkview is in close proximity to good schools, is centrally located and it has very good infrastructure and well-maintained sidewalks, hence the aesthetic appeal.

Home to the Parkview SAPS, a police station that has traditionally been highly rated for its service delivery, its residents have taken security to new levels with Safe Parkview, an initiative which has seen high visibility of security 24/7 with vehicle street patrols.

It is also a short driving distance to the Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, and the trendy suburbs of Parkhurst and Melville. Overlooking the lake and surrounded by tall pine trees for tranquil ambience, Moyo at Zoo Lake offers an unforgettable African dining experience for locals and their families to international visitors.

The Tyrone Avenue shopping strip is a hive of activity and more shopping can be done at Killarney and Rosebank Malls.

Parkview has well-established security community initiatives and involvement in the maintenance of the area making it a safe space for young families such as ourselves. We love it here!

Rosebank and Parktown
On trend and arty
Rosebank is a multi-cultural, vibrant and exciting suburb of Johannesburg, with an outdoorsy atmosphere. It is a trendy suburb, business centre and tourist attraction in one of Johannesburg's up-market areas. Although Rosebank is home to many head offices, the district also provides plenty of entertainment to its residents and visitors at its variety of shopping malls, restaurants, markets, luxurious hotels, cinemas, art galleries and night clubs. Parktown is home to many businesses, hospitals, schools, churches and restaurants, whilst still maintaining quiet residential areas. Parktown is an old and established suburb, with leafy avenues and a serene atmosphere. Large mansions are a dominant feature in this exclusive suburb, and new developments are rare.
