Rosebank is a multi-cultural, vibrant and exciting suburb of Johannesburg, with an outdoorsy atmosphere. It is a trendy suburb, business centre and tourist attraction in one of Johannesburg's up-market areas. Although Rosebank is home to many head offices, the district also provides plenty of entertainment to its residents and visitors at its variety of shopping malls, restaurants, markets, luxurious hotels, cinemas, art galleries and night clubs. Parktown is home to many businesses, hospitals, schools, churches and restaurants, whilst still maintaining quiet residential areas. Parktown is an old and established suburb, with leafy avenues and a serene atmosphere. Large mansions are a dominant feature in this exclusive suburb, and new developments are rare.

The general atmosphere can be described as trendy, funky, arty and very popular with younger people between the ages of 20 and 30.
For the history enthusiasts, there are historical sites and museums within this neighbourhood. One such popular museum is the Boer War Memorial, dedicated to South African heroes of the past.
The Johannesburg Zoo, located in Parkview, is a great outing for the whole family with day and night tours available. Across the road lies Zoo Lake, a popular spot for picnics, jogging and dog walking. The variety of entertainment and shopping centres include the Rosebank Mall - a premiere shopping destination, the Firs Shopping Centre - home to two art galleries, and Mutual Square and Gardens - which offers rural crafts. The Rosebank Mews is one of the oldest shopping centres in the Rosebank area. Alongside the Zone, Rosebank Mews houses a great variety of very well known modelling agencies and casting agencies.
Parktown is home to 3 of the 5 campuses of the University of Witwatersrand. These campuses include the education campus, the medical school and Wits Business School. Parktown is an old and established suburb, with leafy avenues and a serene atmosphere. Large mansions are a dominant feature in this exclusive area.
Golfing is very popular and there are several lush golf courses in this neighbourhood, such as Killarney Country Club and the Parkview Golf Club. There are various hospitals in close proximity to this neighbourhood such as, Milpark, Brenthurst Clinic, Sandton Clinic and Mediclinic Rosebank.
