Private Property will once again be sponsoring the Win a Home Show on SABC3. The fourth series of South Africa’s favourite interior design reality show is back on talk show Afternoon Express. Budding interior designers are invited to submit their applications to be contestants in the Win a Home 2017 Designer Challenge.
Calling all interior designers
This year Win a Home is looking for design duos: couples, siblings, best friends or family - who will decorate one of three homes on the Eye of Africa luxury golf and residential estate south of Johannesburg.
This means double the reality, double the fun and double the drama!
Once again the Win a Home competition is proudly brought to you by Private Property. Design Contestants will use Plason finishes and Caesarstone surfaces throughout the allocated homes.
The design contestant duos will be vying for two prizes. The first will be the Judges Choice Prize. The panel of expert judges will decide on a winning design duo who will receive a R100 000 cash prize. In addition, Win a Home viewers will once again be able to have their say, and vote online for their favourite pair and favourite design. The team with the most accumulated votes at the end of the competition will win R20 000. If the judges and viewers are in agreement this means that one design duo could win both prizes – a total of R120 000!
Competing designers will be mentored by three of South Africa's leading home decor magazines. Each of the three participating design duos will be assigned a magazine title, who will guide them through the design process.
Win A Home spring-boarded the careers of the previous designer winners Donald Nxumalo (2014) , Jacoline Sema (2015) and Rudolph Jordaan (2016) who have since made a big impact on South African interior design industry.
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for passionate and qualified designers with less than five years work experience looking to make it big in interior design. Apply with your chosen partner to help you in the challenge. This can be your boyfriend, your ‘bestie’, your father, your sister or whoever you feel will help you win.
To enter, you or your partner, must have a tertiary degree or diploma in design or a related creative field, and live in Johannesburg or be able to relocate self-sustained for the duration of the competition. Only one contestant per pair needs to qualify with the necessary criteria – your partner can be anyone from any walk of life as long as they have less that 5 years experience in interior design or a related field. Be sure not to miss out on this life changing opportunity!
Applications for the 2017 Design Challenge will open on Monday 1st May.
In addition to the online entry form you will be required to submit the following via email to email@example.com:
- Photo (showing you and your partner together)

- Design Portfolio (any previous work you would like to show us – max 3 pages)
