Now Cheaper to List on Private Property
Private Property have just accounced the launch of a new pricing model, making their website more available to struggling homeowners who cannot afford the upfront listing fee. According to Alexa.com, www.privateproperty.co.za is the busiest property website in South Africa, and ranks as the 24 000th busiest website in the world.
From the 1st of October, the price to list a property is directly related to number of features that are added to the listing, (Previously, the cost of the listing was related to the selling price of the house). There are different packages or bundles, with varying options and features, designed to suit every pocket. Those on a tight budget will now be able to list their home online for as little as R750, provided they upload the information themselves.
New features on offer include Video and Virtual tour services that are provided by specialist cameramen working from 6 offices nationally. Property on the website is now also rated according to the quality of the listing, so the more the seller does to increase the quality, the higher the listing will rank on the search results. The best quality listing will therefore get the most exposure to the audience of approximately 150 000 unique buyers searching for property every month on Private Property’s website.
While www.property24.com and www.propertygenie.co.za fight it out as to who has the most volume of property on their respective sites, Private Property remain convinced that quality listings are more important for prospective buyers. “We are approaching the market from the side of the buyer” says Chairman Justin Clarke. “We aim to get more buyers to find their new home on our website, so we are working hard to make searching on Private Property the easiest and fastest way to get the best quality of information on the web.”
Clarke also promised the launch of other really exciting new features over the next 6 months.

“Consider that we currently advertise 10% of the volume of houses for sale that our competitors advertise, but the amount of pages viewed is the highest in the country, and the sales made from our site show what really is important. It’s not about volume,” says Clarke.
