South Africa’s Private Property has partnered with ListGlobally to offer its browsers the opportunity to peruse international property listings, as well as to extend exposure for its partner estate agents to a global audience.

ListGlobally promotes real estate listings to over 60 million buyers and investors via a network of leading property portals around the world. Currently distributing to a network of over 50 portals with key coverage in Asia, Europe, and North and South America, the network has expanded two-fold in the past 12 months.

Traffic to the portal's mobile offerings is also strong at hundreds of thousands of unique visitors per month. Simon Bray, Private Property COO, expects that the total traffic on its mobile website will overtake that of its web-based portal within two years. To this end, the company recently released an all-new version of its iPad app, which shot to the number one position in the free lifestyle section of the country’s app store within a week of its launch. In June 2013, Private Property also released a ground-up revamp of its website, which has since won an International Media Award (IMA) for excellence in website design.

Private Property CEO Justin Clarke says that the partnership with ListGlobally is a logical step in the company’s evolution. Private Property was established in 1998 for the “for sale by owner” market. After shifting strategy in 2009, the portal began including real estate agent listings. It now receives listings from South Africa and Nigeria and also hosts an international property section. Privateproperty.co.za also feeds content to other portals and has a white label product powering many other property websites.

Clarke says that, while much of the portal’s traffic is from South Africa, five percent of its browsers can be traced to other countries, most prominently the UK, Australia and the UAE – all of which are key areas for ListGlobally.

“The time has never been better for us to look further than sub-Saharan Africa,” he says. “With the exchange rate being favourable for foreign buyers, we are seeing more international investment into the South African property market. Bearing this in mind, it makes perfect sense for us to enable our sellers to list on a global platform.”

Chris Vulovic, CEO of ListGlobally, says: “As South Africa’s leading portal, Private Property is the perfect addition to the ListGlobally network. The leadership team has the vision to embrace the global trends in both marketing South African properties to overseas buyers, and extend its search territory to include international properties. Today’s sellers expect their homes to be viewed by a global audience and the partner estate agents will be able to provide just that, thanks to the ListGlobally network.”
