Exclusively Mandated - Mount of Olives is a name that comes to mind when you visit Olyvenbosch Olive Farm, an estate on the north-western slopes of Paarl Mountain. Topographically the mountainside could easily be in an ancient Mediterranean olive-growing area, the visual effect of its olive groves flanked by the Fynbos and granite outcrops of neighbouring Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve. The farm itself has wide, sweeping views towards the setting sun and Table Mountain. Perfectly located, access is very easy, with the estates entrance being off the R44, the main Wellington- Stellenbosch route. The closest village is Windmeul and the town of Paarl is just ten minutes away, while Stellenbosch and Cape Town are a 20- and 45-minute drive, respectively.

The property enjoys a microclimate with good soil and water which makes it suitable for a variety of crops, including grapes. The terroir has proven itself as ideal for the cultivation of olives. There are approximately 14 400 olive trees on the farm, producing oil and table olives.

Irrigation water is abundant with 38.2ha 191 000m3 allocated water rights from the Noord Agter Paarl Bergrivier Irrigation Scheme, plus two large earthen storage dams.

Potable water comes from two equipped boreholes that pump water into reservoirs and, from there, gravity-feed a supply to all the houses and buildings on the farm.

Olyvenbosch is planted to 23ha of established olive orchards, all of which are under drip irrigation, and currently these are being expanded by a further 3.3ha of high-density oil olives. Furthermore, the farm also has about 7.2ha of irrigated quality BarAlpha10 lucerne pastures and 4ha of open, arable land for future development.
