We moved from Pretoria to Durbanville in March, and are loving every moment of being here.
Whether you choose to live in the more settled area of Kenridge, or the latest developed and modern style of D’urbanvale, you can enjoy the tranquility and security that Durbanville has to offer.
Wine tasting on the 9 farm wine route in Durbanville offers not only an intriguing history but some of the worlds best wines. For the avid golfers, Durbanville Golf Course provides lush and inviting greens.
The exciting night life adds to the exclusive vibe of Durbanville. Enjoy the convenience of not having to go too far from home for a night out of fine dining and dancing, at many of the buzzing restaurants and clubs that cater for the young and old.
Durbanville is perfect for young families such as my own. The neighbourhoods are quiet and safe. Children play in the streets after school and just have fun in a secure environment.
Durbanville has both English, Afrikaans and dual medium public high schools including: Durbanville High, Fairmont High and Stellenberg High. There are numerous primary schools including: Durbanville Preparatory, Eversdal Primary and Gene Louw Primary. Some of the excellent private schools in this area are: Curro, Chesterhouse and El Shaddai Christian School.
Unique to Durbanville is Fisantekraal Airfield, an ex-airforce airfield built in 1943, where the airforce used to operate Ventura Bombers from. It has been in private ownership since 1993. It serves as a general flying airfield, and is a used for flight training.
