The new series of Win a Home is here!

In the first episode, viewers got to meet the amazing design duos, their magazine mentors and the panel of expert judges who will be critiquing the design duos this season. The Win a Home premiere also gave the audience a dreamy look into the design competition location; the incredible Eye of Africa Golf and Residential Estate in Johannesburg.

The three previous seasons of the combination design and reality show has seen it firmly established as must-watch TV viewing, and Private Property is thrilled to be involved with this show once again. On the show, aspiring designers compete against each other in weekly challenges to decorate and furnish an empty cluster home on the exclusive Eye of Africa Golf and Residential Estate. At the end of the show, one lucky member of public gets to win one of the freshly decorated homes.

The Designer Competition

In a fresh twist to the show this year, contestants will be competing in pairs for the title of the country’s best emerging designer – so expect double the reality, double the drama and double the fun from these Design Duos.

The Design Duos will get expert advice and mentoring from three of the country’s top interior design magazine editors. Annemarie Meintjes from VISI, Amanda Graham of Habitat magazine, and Tiaan Nagel from House and Leisure will be expertly guiding the contestants to create trendsetting homes.

The Design Duos will be vying for two prizes. The first will be the Judges Choice Prize. The panel of expert judges will decide on a winning design duo who will receive a R100 000 cash prize. In addition, Win a Home viewers will once again be able to have their say, and vote online on the Private Property website for their favourite pair and favourite design. The team with the most accumulated votes at the end of the competition will win R20 000. If the judges and viewers are in agreement this means that one Design Duo could win both prizes – a total of R120 000!

The Grand Prize

This year, viewers will stand a chance to win an exquisite three-bedroom, 2-bathroom cluster home on the exclusive Eye of Africa Golf and Residential Estate worth R3 million.

Eye of Africa Estate offers an enviable lifestyle just 17km south of the Johannesburg city centre. It boasts a signature Greg Norman-design championship golf course, two dining options, a resort swimming pool, a state-of-the-art gym and breath-taking surrounds.

Featured on this year’s Win a Home show will be the new Stone Quarter development, which offers free standing, full cluster homes. This is where the Win a Home design contestants will be adding their creative flair, and where SABC 3’s Afternoon Express viewers can stand to win a home of their own to the value of R3 million.

For the best in home interiors tips and designer drama as well as expert real estate advice from Private Property, tune in to Win a Home on Afternoon Express, Fridays between 4pm and 5pm on SABC3.
