The internet has changed drastically in the past 2 years, and the way people interact on a social basis has turned much of what we thought we knew about the web on its head. The chances of you, your kids or any associates being registered on a social network like Facebook is better than good. The site has more than 64 million active users worldwide. Founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook was initially developed for the use of Harvard College students. Since September 2006, anyone older than 13 years has been able to join the group and they all have, if the stats are anything to go by! According to Alexa.com, Facebook is currently ranked South Africa's second most popular website, behind Google and ahead of Yahoo.

Private Property has long been the market leader in innovation with regards to selling property on the internet, so it should come as no surprise that they have capitalised on the trend by adding a Facebook application to their website. Whether you're selling a property, or you're thinking of buying a house, you can show it to your friends in your Facebook news feed. They can add their comments and even click through to the full listing on Private Property's website from your Facebook profile.

Richard Mannion, Solutions Architect for Private Property says, "Facebook has become an important part of many people's lives. It just made sense to enable people to share properties they want to buy or sell with their mates. Property is a large investment, and people like to get opinions about it".

The application is so easy to add, its child's play. Simply click on the "share on Facebook" link at the bottom of the property listing on Private Property (you'll need to be logged in to Facebook to add the property to your news feed). Then pick the picture you want to display, add your own description if you don't like the automated one, and Bob's your uncle! You're in business.
