Ensconced in a school of tradition, with small classes to accommodate the individual needs of its learners, St Catherine’s caters for co-educational classes up to the high school level, and for girls only from Grade 8 to Matric. The campus is a safe environment for all learners, couched in beautiful scenery, and with all of the amenities required to provide the best in learning and extra-mural stimulation across all age groups. In addition to this, boarding facilities are available for high school learners under the care of dedicated boarder mothers

.

As the property of the Oakford Dominican sisters, St Catherine’s operates under a Christian ethos, although a culture of inclusivity prevails. Faith underlies the day-to-day running of the school, entrenching learners with fundamental values that underpin being a good citizen, doing their best in all of their endeavours in service to themselves and God

At all levels of education, St Catherine’s gives its learners a solid basis upon which to approach the future. Primary amongst the required outcomes across the board is that learners attain the results that are the equivalent to their best potential. As they progress through the system, learners find that they have a desire to acquire more knowledge, and that they have the fundamental foundations upon which to study effectively and approach challenges with desirable outcomes. This is through the development of all of the pivotal skills that make for superior academics.

St Catherine’s offers a range of facilities to cater for all of their high quality offerings in terms of academics, sports and cultural activities. This includes two media centres, a well-equipped computer centre, art room, music room, biology and science laboratories, as well as a remedial centre. The school hall is the ideal location for plays, screenings and events on the go at the school on an ongoing basis. In addition to these, the school has a swimming pool; hockey, athletics, soccer and cricket fields and tennis courts.

These facilities are the backbone of the extra-mural offerings available at St Catherine’s. All of these develop the talents, and entrench learners with skills, values and principles that permeate daily living. Learners are encouraged to participate in as many of these as possible for the inevitable good that comes from them. Owing to fine guidance by the coaches, and a culture of sportsmanship and excellence, St Catherine’s is a formidable opponent in all of their endeavours, and are proficient in all competitions.
