This distinctive 1521-hectare farm occupies an elevated position and is ideally situated on the eastern banks of the Doorn River. It is located about 90 kms from Clanwilliam (of which 35 kms are tar and the rest good gravel road) and 120 kms from Calvinia of which 20 kms are tar, and the rest is good gravel road).

The topography is rugged with mountainous areas, cliffs, undulating hills, vast flat areas on the plateaus and sand on the banks of the river. The river is quite a unique sight to experience. The majestic Cederberg is clearly visible from the plateau on the farm.

The river also offers tremendous potential as a superb relaxation facility. Furthermore, building cottages overlooking the dam would generate income from holiday accommodation. The area is also ideal for mountain biking, hiking, 4x4 trails and quad bikes. Some of the tracks on the farm are only accessible with a 4x4.

The farm has not been farmed recently and had been laying fallow for the past 5 years. The veld is in prime condition. The perimeter fencing is jackal-proof. Some sections need repairs. Fencing on the inner camps is not in good repair. The carrying capacity is 1:45 LSU.

Rainfall occurs mostly during the winter months with the odd thunderstorm during summer. An average of 200 mm precipitation is measured annually.

Vegetation consists mainly of natural Karoo-like shrubs, Karoo succulents, patches of various grasses, dense riverine thicket, mainly Acacia Thorn and Karee trees. This is Kudu and Eland heaven! A special feature, and additional food source, are the dry rivers that traverse the farm.

Accommodation is a small cottage which can easily be made habitable with little bit of TLC. Domestic water is sourced from a borehole fitted with a solar pump (not currently in use).

Farming in this area consists predominantly of livestock such as cattle, sheep and game that thrive on the natural vegetation. At present there are no farming activities.
