The farm is situated in the beautiful and scenic valley where the Grootrivier and Huisrivier meet. In this region you can expect to yield 15-20 tons of lucerne per hectare. Current prices per ton is R3,500. Local farmers expect this price to rise during winter season. Lucerne seed production can vary from 300kg 500kg per hectare with a current price of R130 per kg. Normal season will be 6 cuts per year with 1 seed harvest. With good rains the possibility is there to do another 2 cuts in the winter for silage.
