KLEIN-KAROO - 400 HA IRRIGATION LUCERN FARM
This farm borders on the Western side of Oudtshoorn. 309 Ha is under irrigation of which 240 ha is under lucern and the rest is under wheat as a good rotational crop. The farm also produces lucern seed.
The farm has cattle feeding lots for approximately 800 head of cattle. The farm houses a large factory that produces lucern pellets.
The water on the farm is comes from the following sources: It falls under the Stompdrift Kammanasie State Water Scheme, has 2 water canals out the Grobbelaars River, pumping rights out of the Olifants River as well as pumping rights out of the sewerage scheme of Oudtshoorn. There is 1 catchment dam and 1 x10 ha pivot.
